Golf in Africa started in 1885 with the opening of Royal Cape Golf Club, in Cape Town South Africa. The game has grown to be played in more than 20 countries on the continent out of 54 countries. There are more than 600 golf courses on the continent with South Africa being home to 450 courses, Africa has some of the world’s best golf destinations and experiences.
Some of the countries to play golf in Africa are Tunisia, Mauritius, Egypt, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya and Rwanda. The Africa Golf Club idea was incubated at Pearl Valley Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, which was Ranked in the Top 3 Golf Courses in South Africa for 2023 by SA’s TOP 100 Courses.

- You become an automatic member of Wedgewood Golf Club, membership includes HNA handicap (non-South African Members only)

- Complementary Phamba Card – this will give you up to 10% discount on courses around the continent. Discounts apply to club ProShop, restaurant and venue hire.
wedgewood golf club
When you sign up you automatically become a member of Wedgewood Golf Club with a membership card. Please note member will need to cover their own courier costs for the membership card.
Club Membership Terms and Conditions
- All membership subscriptions are due annually in advance.
- Membership calendar year, starts on day of payment.
- Monthly instalments are available via card payments only or direct debit where applicable and are subject to approval. ( Admin fees & Interest fee is included in this option)
- On membership renewal grace period is 30 Days, thereafter membership is cancelled and 1 months pro- rata fees will be invoiced. Interest on late payments is charged at South Africa (Prime plus 3%)
- Please note a reinstatement fee will be charged to reinstate your membership.

Nominate a New Member
If you nominate a member and they pay annual subscription, your account will be credited with $50 per nominated member. You can use this money to book a game, travel, or buy any merchandise, equipment, accessories or Apparels
